Well, silly me, I thought the challenge this week at Meljen's was "cute and simple" but I was wrong! Lol! At least it fits with CropStop's birds challenge! I suppose a bird is an animal so it'll also work for Cute Card Thursday too! And since it's brown, ABC's "N for Neutral!"
It's time for another challenge! This week: SEWING! Agh...I'm the kind of girl who has to take her shirts to the tailor when they need a button! While I think it's beautiful when I see it on cards, sewing just "ain't" in my skill packet! Lol!
So I went very literal with this challenge...I used the word "Sew" and the background paper has stitching on it. As you can (maybe) see, I even sewed a teeny tiny bit (only these wonderful ladies could motivate me to try to sew something!).
I used the sketch from Simon Says Stamp to create this little card. Stamptacular wants layers and, I don't know if you can tell, but I used lots of layers on this adorable Lula! I got her here and I just love her! Paper Sundaes wants cute...well, this is pretty cute (if I do say so myself, lol!).
She has some fabulous images but she also has fantastic backgrounds...which you'll see more of below! ;D
Here is the inspirational photo:
And here is my project:
The fabulous fence is from Di's store...I popped it up with some 3-dimensional glue dots, sliced along the edge for an opening and used my scor-pal to score along the opposite edge so it swings open!
This week's challenge may cause you to look like this for a moment:
For one week, use only cash...not a debit card, but cash! (If you are like me, you're thinking, "What's the difference?" Well, every time I take cash to Target, Michaels, etc. I still end up overspending and having to use the debit card to rescue me...this week I vow to only take cash into the store...no back up methods!).
Many of you already use this method but for those of you who don't, give it a go! See what happens!
